Marayna Martinez

PhD Candidate | Duke University | Sanford School of Public Policy and Department of Political Science

I am a joint PhD candidate in the political science department and Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University.

My research and teaching interests include race and ethnic politics, political behavior, policy feedback, and K12 education policy. I am particularly interested in the feedback effects of public education on the political development of children of color. My dissertation focuses on how high school demographics and school discipline affect the early adult political participation of children of color.

Prior to coming to Duke, I received my B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Political Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2018.
